The Effects of Rereading

Do you hate rereading?

Or do you love it?

This is related to my last post: the effects of skimming. Rereading can be amazing if you tend to skim descriptions because you can learn new information about what you are reading that you may have missed before. On the other hand, if you hate rereading and you DON'T skim, you are most likely not going to like to reread books, especially if you didn't enjoy the book in general. However, rereading really helps when you read because you can retain new information that you didn't read before, or perhaps just missed.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REREAD EVERY SINGLE BOOK YOU READ!!

If you hated the book you read, or if it did not particularly resonate with you, you do not have to reread the book. But if you read a book quickly, and you enjoyed it, feel free to reread because chances are, you missed something in your excitement of finishing.

Rereading can be tiresome, especially if you already know everything that is going to happen. So what I like to do when rereading, I read the book, I wait for about a month, and then I pick it up and get right back into the story again. Also, if you are reading a series that is not complete yet, you can always read the first books, wait for the others to come out, and then read the first books again to refresh your memory before going on to the next books, no matter how interesting and appealing they are. Chances are, the last books will make a lot more sense.

Thanks for reading! Please comment and keep on Writing, Reading, and Most Of All, LEARNING!!!!
